HE NEVER FORSAKES

Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:32-51

“For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name sake…” 1 Samuel 12:22 (KJV)

The life of a believer in Christ is one that is already set on an upward and forward trajectory (Pro 4:18, II Cor 3:18). Yet the path to greater glory will not be devoid of challenges. Challenges are forces intended to convince a person to perform an action they otherwise would not. Challenges are bound to come but how you react to them will determine the outcome – victory or failure.
For fear of the giant, Goliath, it may have seemed easier for Saul to call back his troops and surrender completely to the Philistines. Even when their challenge taunted them daily (v.23), they refused to succumb to the power of their trial and God gave them victory in the most unlikely way (v.49).

Many believers, when faced with challenges, blame God and, sometimes, threaten to abandon their faith. They fail to realize that particular challenge may be a strategy the enemy has deployed to get them away from God. At such times, find strength in God and hold on for they that know their God shall be strong (Dan 11:32b). They are strong because they know he will not forsake his own. Even if you have deviated from the path of righteousness due to the pressure of challenges, God can still raise you up from the dirt of sin and error. You can bank on his promise that he will never leave nor forsake you.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to stay strong even in the face of challenges in Jesus name, Amen.

FAITH BYTE:
I serve a God who never fails. He will never leave me nor forsake me.
