DO NOT TAKE OFFENCE

Scripture: JOHN 16:1-4

“And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”  Matthew 11:6 (KJV)

One of the enemy’s strategy is to cause believers to take offence either with God or servants of God in authority over them. Taking offence denies believers the opportunity of receiving their blessing from God through his servants. This is because the moment people believe they have been offended by others, they cease to function at their best for that person or for God.

As humans, we may have several reasons to justify our stance towards people that have hurt us. There is no excuse that can cover the fact that taking offence hurts us more than it does the one who may have offended us. To be offended in God is to fault his doings and works. God cannot be faulted by anyone whatsoever.

Some have spent a better part of their adult life living in bitterness and anger towards God and man. You must remember that life has been given to you just once to live and you must not spend it in pain. Do not abandon beneficial relationships because you feel you have been hurt. Refuse to dwell on the negatives of a situation, rather make a conscious and genuine effort to resolve issues with the view of getting a solution that benefits everyone involved. Above all, you must learn to forgive and let go so that you can live a joyful and fulfilling life.

PRAYER:
Lord, give me the grace not to be offended in you no matter what happens in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE:
I am not distracted by offence because I focus on God.
