“Now it came to pass the same night that the LORD said to him, “… tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it; Judges 6:25 (NKJV)
Many Christians today have altars in their life that are not of God. These altars continue to speak against them and hinder progress in their lives. Some of these altars were built by parents or ancestors. Some were built due to past experiences, mistakes, or ignorance. These covenants
made to demonic oracles and every demonic belief system and traditions need to be pulled down, else, progress may be difficult.
The first thing God told Gideon to do was to pull down the altar of Baal in his father’s house. The strong man had to be dealt with before God could deliver Israel. Every altar and stronghold of the devil had to be pulled down before God could bring deliverance to Israel.
Altars speak for or against people. Which altar is speaking in your life or family? Is it an altar of shame, poverty, death or sickness? Is it an ancestral shrine or occultic union you have made in the past? You have to repent and tear it down by the power of the Holy Spirit. Do not be afraid to confront any demonic altar in your life. Declare a battle against it today. You can also seek the help and confidence of other believers who would support and uphold you in prayers. Shine the light of God on every altar of darkness in your life so that you can break free from the clutches of the enemy and live an abundant life (Jn. 1:5).
PRAYER: Lord, by your power, I pull down every false altar in my life in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE: Only the altar of God stands in my life and it brings me fruitfulness.
