REFUSE TO WORRY

Scripture: Matthew 6:25-34

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow; for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.” Matthew 6:34 (KJV)

There are many things in life that may cause us to worry. Decisions to be made on various crucial issues, bills to be paid, plans to be achieved and many others. The pressure to keep it all together can lead to worry,
depression and ill health. The bible counsels us against overburdening our minds with these issues (Ps. 55:2).

There is a saying that worry is a like a rocking chair that takes us nowhere. Anxiety and brooding never brought any change to issues (v7). Worry is destructive in many ways. It becomes a mental burden that can weigh a person down (Prov. 12:25). The bible says with God all things are possible. When we understand how great God is, we will learn to cast our burdens upon him and let him take control. With God, there is no mountain too high to climb.

We truly cannot add a hair to our head even if we tried. We can instead leave our desires and needs at the feet of the one who understands us totally. We can entrust our decisions and goals in his hands because he has room enough to oversee that they come to pass. Let gratitude and praise take the place of our worry. If he can feed the birds of the air and adorn the flowers in the field with fine raiment, we can count on him to bring the best plans to come to pass in our lives. We can find rest in his assurance to care for us (Ps. 55:2).

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that you take away every worry from my life. Give me your peace that passes all understanding in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I cast all my cares and worries upon the Lord for I know He cares for me.
