BE MINDFUL

Scripture: Matthew 26:47-56

“So be careful if you are thinking, “Oh, I would never behave like that” - let this be a warning to you. For you too may fall into sin.” 1 Corinthians 10:12 (TLB)

Judas was one of the disciples of Jesus. He walked with Jesus, saw the miracles that Jesus performed and deep down in Judas’ heart, he must have known that Jesus is the son of the living God. But this knowledge did not deter him from carrying out his evil plans against Jesus with the religious leaders of his time.
The leaders saw a weak link in Judas and collaborated with him to arrest Jesus.

Whatever the devil did to Judas to make him betray the Son of God must have been cunning, deceptive and convincing. Although, Judas realized the foolishness of his ways, it was too late to salvage his actions. Overcome with guilt and shame, he ended his life . This is an indication of how deceptive Satan can be. He is ready with lies to feed whoever decides to give him ear. Therefore, we must be mindful of his devices lest we become victims.

If Jesus was tempted, you too can and will be tempted. You must be able to discern when the enemy is at work and constantly bear in mind that the endpoint of the enemy’s lies is to bring destruction your way (John 10:10). Paul sounded a warning that no one should think more highly of themselves than they ought to (Romans 12:3) as this can lead to costly regret. Never rejoice in the fall of others but constantly uphold them and yourself in prayers.

PRAYER: Lord, uphold me and help me to stand firm in you till eternity in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I stand on the grace of God, he upholds me and I will not be ensnared by the devices of the enemy.
