DESIRE MORE OF JESUS

Scripture: Philippians 3:1-11

“That I may know him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)

In one of Paul’s most profound writings, he poured out his heart describing the significance of his life in Christ and his desire to discover more each day in his relationship with God. His goal was to persuade every believer to grasp the importance of knowing Jesus and the need to grow in their walk with Jesus
if they are to fully enjoy the benefits and reap the rewards for which Christ came on earth.

Despite many years of walking with God, Paul’s singular desire was still to know him and fully understand the power that brought man salvation and redemption. This need to know God moved Paul to depend solely on God in his ministry and the results he generated are evident even today. Paul’s ministry was underlined with power, signs and miracles. He did not utter mere or empty words but was loaded with proof of God’s power (1 Corinthians 2:4). His results are due to an unwavering love for and fellowship with the One who laid down his life for all of mankind.

Just like Apostle Paul, we need to count all that this world has to offer as nothing for the excellence of knowing Christ. Like the deer that pants for water, our heartbeat must constantly be for him. Let us desire and follow Christ so we will enjoy heaven on earth and life everlasting here after. The more of his word we read, study and appropriate in our lives daily, the more we discover him and become like him.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to know you more daily, so I will serve you joyfully all my life in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I pant after Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. I increase in the knowledge of God daily
