ENGAGE YOUR GIFT

Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:6-16

“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.” 1 Timothy 4:14 (KJV)

There is absolutely no one in life that does not have a gift put in him by God. The challenge, however, lies in the fact that many do not realize that they have been given a gift. Others, on the other hand, neglect to put theirs to use. A gift that has not been discovered and put to use cannot benefit you or others.
It is important for us to know that our gifts are a blessing to others and this means that destinies are tied to our gifts when we put it to use to God’s glory. These can only be achieved when you discover your gifts and then engage it meaningfully and not allowing it to remain dormant in you. This was the reason Paul admonishes Timothy not to neglect his gift. You cannot fulfill destiny if you neglect your gift. Others tied to that gift of God in you may not be their best except you engage yours to their advantage.

Realize that God has packaged you with a gift that will bless you, bless others and advance God’s kingdom. The next thing to do is to put that gift to use. Starting from your family, ministry, church and then to the society at large. Your gift may not be like others but that one that God has given you is what you need to be all that God wired you to be, therefore engage it diligently.

PRAYER: Lord, keep me conscious of the need to reach out with my gift so I can be a blessing to others in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I put my gift to use consciously and deliberately for my advancement and that of the body of Christ.
