TAKE GOD’S WORK SERIOUSLY

Scripture: Haggai 1:1-10

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

It is common to see people give 100% to their careers but treat the work of God with carelessness and levity. They perform tasks at levels far below their potentials and capabilities, believing that their secular jobs are more important because they receive direct financial reward.
They forget that God is the source of everything. They expect church leaders to understand and be compassionate.

Paul however warns against this attitude and admonishes believers who have been given the privilege to serve the body of Christ not to allow this negative disposition influence their service. They must instead give their best and render excellent service because those who benefit from their service are the beloved of the Lord, partakers in divine glory and therefore, deserve the very best.

As a Christian worker, let your service to God and man be guided by love. Be zealous, and loyal and committed to the vision of God’s church. Your opportunity to serve God and his church is a privilege which should not be taken lightly. Serve with fear, reverence and understanding. Let your good work in God’s house stand the test of time and speak in your favour.

REMEMBER TO ATTEND: MAP Meeting (Home Fellowship) tomorrow.

PRAYER:  Lord, give me the grace to be diligent in my service and work in your vineyard in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE: I am blessed in my service to the body of Christ as my God is not unjust to forget my labour of love.
